2.73 million tonnes The worldwide production of olive oil during the 2022/2023 season is the lowest since 2017, at 2.73 million tonnes. It remains driven by the European Union which, with 1,504,500 tonnes, makes up 55% of world production. Spain, with 780,000 tonnes, accounts for 52% of European production. Greece moves into second place with 350,000 tonnes, ahead of Italy, with 235,000 tonnes.
